Ok well I’ve finally got round to gutting the megadrive and the controller!
Now after looking at the inside of the Megadrive I’ve got a rough idea of measurements and what I can realistically put inside of it.
I will soon post a list of bits and the setup I’ll be going for 
Ok so it arrived this morning and I had a bit of a nostalgic moment
Played original sonic for a while which was bliss…
But now to the dismantling and gutting, I shall take pictures of progress and the final gutted case.

Ok I know this has nothing to do with the megadrive but I’m still waiting for it to arrive in the post.
As I was bored and had nothing better to do I ripped apart an old stereo and turned it into an mp3 speaker system.
The old speakers in the stereo were long gone and most of the insides were rotten old boards held together by the cobwebs some spiders had left as a parting gift.
So anyway it was opened up, inside gutted and then given a really good clean
I then took some old portable mp3 speakers and started to disassemble them so as to get to the juicy insides!
Afterwords I placed the speakers in some acoustic foam and stuck them in the old speakers position.
I then hooked the battery pack up to the main board with the switch and aux in cable and glued them in place.
I cut out a new hole at the back for the batteries to be placed in without having to unscrew the thing each time and also a little hole was put in the back for the on switch!
Now I have an old skool ghetto blaster that’ll play from any mp3 player

Also as a thanks for his help and support, once this project is finished I’m gonna let him review the final system and see whether it is truly a media center worth having!

Good news I have the console, Should be shipped out soon!
I’ve managed to get it for the tiny amout of £10 with a controller.
Now I’ll probably post some prospective computer parts I’m going to use but nothing shall be finalised until I have my hands on the console and have gutted the thing.
Ok so I should probably expalin what I’m gonna be doing here!
A megadrive shall become a fully functional computer able to run the latest video games, emulate the megadrive games it was originally built for and any other classic console out there.
It’s main function will be a media center for watching movies and listening to music while also being able to play video games.
I shall also convert the original megadrive controller into a wireless analogue controller (hopefully)
So now all I need is the parts
